Tablet Lottery Entry

Lenovo Tab 9 tablets for Lottery Winners

The Maine Council on Aging has created an initiative to bring digital equity to communities around New England. Part of digital equity is providing compatible technology and digital literacy classes. The library is working on building those resources here in New Boston!  Starting September 30th, we will begin our own initiative for older adults (55 years old and up) to receive compatible technology and classes. The participants of this program will get to take the tablets home and keep them as personal devices free of charge.

The recipients will be selected through a lottery process as there are only 25 available. The participants will be drawn on November 1st, at 12PM (Noon). If you or someone you know might be eligible to receive a tablet, please fill out our submission form, below or by filling out one of the forms in the library.

*Participants must be 55 years old or above, must be able to attend the classes and have a current New Boston address.*

Participants do NOT need a library card in order to enter the lottery or participate in the classes (though we encourage it).

The classes will be held in November on the following dates:
Monday, November 4, 2pm-4pm
Thursday, November 7, 10am-12pm (noon)
Wednesday, November 13, 2pm-4pm
Thursday, Novbember 14, 10am-12pm (noon)
Monday, November 18, 2pm-4pm
Thursday, November 22, 10am-12pm (noon)
Monday, November 25, 2pm-4pm

This line of programming is specifically for older adult community members who currently do NOT own a tablet. If you have a tablet and need a few classes on how to use it, please stay tuned for those classes, also coming in November.
